Tim Saunders, author, journalist and publisher
Art + craft
TIM SAUNDERS has always enjoyed painting and making things. In 1988, aged 10, while attending Dorchester Prep, one of his paintings was exhibited at the Royal Bath & West Show, which prompted a telephone interview by the editor of Dorset Life, John Newth, and a subsequent article. Much later, in 2000, Tim produced a simple restricted palette landscape. That won second place in the Frank Herring & Sons annual art exhibition in Dorchester. Now, he creates naïve paintings under the pseudonym, Ted Wates. Pottery and whittling also interest Tim.
